Sunset on the Guadalupe

The artist was inspired by the sunset through the trees and how it effected the colors of the waters.  The Guadalupe River runs miles through south central Texas.  This particular section is on a ranch outside Boerne, Tx. She stated that the water is low the day she was there - only about 18" to 2'. " After a large rain it can flow through this area 20 feet deep" she explained. She had picnicked on the banks and was walking down to the Indian drawings as the sun was beginning to set. She said that she stood in the middle of the water to take this photo to paint from. 

"The water was cool and refreshing.  I wanted to capture the flow and movement on the water as well as the sunset colors reflected ."
