The beauty of flowers is fleeting.  Each resplendent blossom lasting only a few days or weeks.  Every flower is an individual and unique just as each human is unique.  Their various designs and colors are  fascinating.  As a group, they are often breath taking and add brilliance to the landscape.  Flowers make me happy. 

The senes in this collection are from my trips to Europe and the Middle East as well as around Jacksonville, Florida  and the Shawnee Forest area of Southern Illinois which is a beautiful area located between the Ohio River and the Mississippi River in the Southern tip of Illinois.

I follow the light which is my inspiration. 

I am inspired by the light shining both in the landscape around me and on the people I see working, playing or relaxing outside. There is often a story attached to the painting. 

Living in a rural area with many farms, fresh produce can be found in abundance. Farmers' markets are a weekly event.   the fresh fruit and vegetables are colorful and enticing, just begging to be painted.
